Sunshine in Copenhagen? We got lucky. But the real warmth came from spending an incredible week at ConnectWise Evolve with an inspiring community of fellow travellers on the MSP journey – the Go Givers.
Evolve isn’t just another conference. It’s a family. A shared commitment to building world-class IT services and crafting rewarding lives – in our businesses, communities, and at home with our families.
This quarter’s meet hit deeper than usual. We asked a confronting question:
“Why?” What is it all for?
It prompted raw, honest reflection – the kind that’s hard to access in the day-to-day chaos.
Let’s be blunt about the MSP reality:
- 45% failure rate within 5 years.
- Sluggish organic growth across the sector.
- In the UK, the top 10 MSPs account for less than 1% of market share.
These aren’t just stats. They’re a wake-up call. Success in this space is never accidental. It’s hard-won. It requires relentless learning, adaptation, and strategy.
Which brings us back to that question:
What exactly is my legacy?
Not just financially, but in how I lead. How I serve my clients. How I support my team, and how I show up for my family.
The biggest takeaway from Copenhagen?
You can’t build a legacy by accident. It requires intention, clarity, and alignment.
Your personal values and goals can’t be side notes. They must shape your business decisions, daily habits, and strategic roadmap. Only then does the business become more than a revenue engine – it becomes a vehicle for lasting impact.
Copenhagen reminded me of this:
You don’t scale chaos. You scale clarity.
The hard work is non-negotiable. But purpose must guide it.
I left Denmark with a sunburn, a full notebook, and with a renewed commitment to intentional legacy-building.
What would your legacy look like if you stepped back and asked the hard questions? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let’s keep pushing.
